What makes something fun? What makes a person or object playful? Is it the experience, physical attributes, or the user’s imagination? Are there things that are universally fun or is play different for each person?

In this studio, we will be exploring the concepts of play and fun and determine how objects and spaces can embody those principles! We will begin with a skills week to learn different ways of making things and then we’ll dive into creating imaginary playscapes designed for specific storybook characters. We will take what we’ve learned from that exercise into a longer project where we design playful structures and experiences for a very special group of clients and users!
